There’s no doubt that Heidi Klum is one proud mom when it comes to her daughter Leni. She often promotes her 18-year-old daughter’s latest modeling job as the teenager follows in her mother’s footsteps on the catwalk. With her recent high school graduation, Heidi is also dealing with her daughter leaving the nest and spreading her wings – and her career.
The 49 year old man America’s Got Talent Judge revealed that Leni was going to make the East Coast her home base to expand her job opportunities. “She’s moving to the Big Apple. It’s kind of my first playground, so I feel like she’s starting over,” she said on Today’s show. “I’m so proud of her!” When Leni was growing up, Heidi made it clear that her lookalike daughter had to wait until she was 16 to enter the fashion industry, but since then her career has taken off.

“She was [modeling] for the past year, which is amazing,” Heidi said. “She walked for Dolce & Gabbana. In fact, in a few weeks, she is doing the show again in Sicily. Modeling is not the only item on Leni’s agenda, as she will also continue her studies in New York. Heidi didn’t mention where she’s enrolled, but she’s “super excited for her to be able to do whatever she wants to do.”
Leni’s recent successes, including a Fila and mother-daughter shoe campaign Harper’s Bazaar Germany covers, show that the teenager has a promising career ahead of her. She’s thrilled to carry on her mother’s legacy, but she’s also asserting her independence in a town that helped define Heidi’s career.
