“Back when I was still starting my career, I was coming out of high school, I still had my volleyball body. It was a body I loved. I knew how hard I was working to get those muscles, being hunched over in those places – I kind of miss it now, “Hadid said.” Back then people were tough on me and tried to say I didn’t have a track body. “
Hadid shared that she had her first chance to step on a Parisian catwalk by Jean Paul Gaultier in 2015.
“For Jean Paul for having me at his last ready-to-wear show in 2015 – not just to have me, but also to put me in an outfit that didn’t cover much… like, there was still stylists or designers back then who put me in their shows but put me in something that really covered my body, “Hadid said.” And so for him to make me feel like he wanted me to shine. that way it really meant a lot to me as a young model. Given how busy her work schedule has been, the model explained that she adjusts to the pace of the industry by taking time off the farm she shares with her mother, Yolanda Hadid, in Pennsylvania.
“I think everyone needs a place, or a space, or a time for themselves where they can do what they love and find their stuff. For me it’s the farm, and that it’s doing a little oil painting in the morning and then doing a puzzle in the afternoon, ”she said.
Hadid added that the distance between the farm and New York City helps her recharge her batteries.
“Most of the time I’ll have friends and family on the farm, but there are a lot of days I’m here on my own, and I sit in my little cottage in silence and do these little things to myself, “she said.” I think it also gives me energy and love for what I do. It recharges my batteries. “
