Edith M. (Heyssler) Krekorian, 91, from Seekonk, died on Monday August 9, 2021.
She was the beloved wife of the late Ruben E. Krekorian. Born and raised in Germany, she was the daughter of the late Maximillen and Margarete (Kunze) Heyssler.
In 1952, she left Germany for Montreal, where she spent part of the next two years working as a nanny and model. In Montreal, she also met her husband, Ruben. In 1960 the couple moved into their new home in Seekonk where they resided for many happy years.
She was purchasing director at the American Mathematical Society, Providence, for twenty-eight years before retiring in 1989. In 1993, she became the producer and director of “Change of Pace with Edie”, which airs on the channel wired 9.
She has been actively involved in the civic life of Seekonk. She was a past president of the Kiwanis Club and coordinator of its annual fundraiser, Taste of the Towns. She was the founder of Friends of Friends and was a former member of the city’s finance committee. Edie had also been a board member of the Boys and Girls Club of Pawtucket and the Blackstone Valley ARC. She loved to play golf and was a member of the Pawtucket Country Club. Edie also loved to walk and was an avid reader.
She leaves a sister, Sonja Saint-Denis from Germany; nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and her dear friend, Karen A. Perkins of Seekonk. Edie also leaves many friends in Seekonk and Portland, Maine.
Visits will begin on Friday August 20, 2021 at 11 a.m. followed by services at 12 p.m. at William W. Tripp Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Avenue, Pawtucket. Interment will follow at Spring Vale Cemetery in East Providence.
